Development
On a whim, I took a quick trip over to the NBA Development League website and turned up some interesting players on NBDL rosters, including former Michigan State PG Mateen Cleaves (should have kept the beard), ex-Oregon standout Luke Jackson, and UNC’s highly touted Jawad Williams (maybe the victim of too much talent coming out of North Carolina around his time.) A quick trip over to the...

This is the 7’ 2” professional kickboxer that Jose Canseco is going to fight on May 26th, live on HDNet. I’m not a huge fan of Jose, but I really hope that I don’t see him die in the ring.

I wonder what the reaction of my Jewish friends is when they see headlines like this. Is it justice? Apathy? Granted, this could cause a firestorm, but I don’t have relatives affected by the holocaust, so I have no reasonable barometer to know.

Calling for an IMAX boycott →
jstn: azizisbored: If you don’t want the whole long story, I did some research online and found this article that explains it. Basically IMAX is whoring out their brand name and trying to trick people. These new “IMAX” theatres are really just nice digital screens with good sound, but they ARE NOT IMAX, in that they don’t have the huge 72 ft gigantic screen which people would expect. However,...

Why I love and hate Last.fm
I use Last.fm almost entirely for its tracking capabilities. It tracks everything I have listened to since I joined a little under a year ago. It also makes up for Apple’s asinine way of determining what constitutes a “play”, counting a track as played at the halfway point. I cannot stand the small silences at the end of tracks and frequently fast forward. I hate Last.fm for the...

'Or Current Resident'
I got a catalog from Weir’s Furniture, where I purchased a couch last summer, in the mail today. It was addressed to me, or the current resident of my apartment. By addressing it like this, Weir’s admits a few things: 1. They don’t care who lives here, they are sending this catalog. 2. They really don’t even care if I get it, they just want to send a catalog somewhere. ...

Just saw video of Fernando Tatis’ two grand slams in one inning from 1999, where he played on the same Cards team as Mark McGwire. Does anyone else find it impossible to see archival footage McGwire (or Bonds) and not think of the steroids absolutely pouring through their veins at that moment?
