Just watched the documentary The Gates, chronicling the creation of Christo and Jean-Claude’s Central Park installation. Killer documentary - I always love hearing artists attempt to persuade conventionally-thinking people into supporting their project, even though it is usually art for art’s sake. Some great footage of NYC in the 1970’s as well.

I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, Atlanta, Georgia, Nashville, Tennessee, Wheaton, Illinois, and I suppose I’m still growing up in Texas. I have been thinking a lot lately about how much where you grow up influences who you are. Me being me, I made a playlist trying to represent that.
