Rebranding

It’s one thing to rebrand if the majority of your current product offerings might not relate to your name. (Radio Shack rebranding to “the Shack”).

It’s another thing to change your name to try to be more “hip” with the “texting generation”. (Pizza Hut rebranding to “the Hut”)

But when did either

a) having a niche

or

b) telling customers what you do/sell/are about

become uncool?
