It is not news to me that Crowded House has reformed for a tour. I love Crowded House. It IS news to me that they have enlisted Beck’s drummer, Matt Sherod, to play the skins for them. “Don’t Dream It’s Over” is for sure a top 25 song for me, and to have that level of groove behind it is quite enticing.
Speaking of Beck, how has his latest record The Information not generally recognized for its greatness? Perhaps the marketing measures surrounding the album’s release (customizeable art, homemade videos for each song) ended up shrouding the actual music. Regardless, it not only contains some of Beck’s best jams, but holds together very well as an album.
I had the pleasure of seeing a sold out impromptu Beck show at the Gypsy Tea Room shortly before it closed, and it was nice to see him making it a family affair, with his brother in law Giovanni Ribisi joining him on guitar.
